Efficient heat recovery for screw compressors

Up to 96% of the drive energy is converted into heat, which often remains unused. Installing a heat recovery system therefore makes sense, especially with modern fully encapsulated screw compressors. The waste heat can be used in various applications including central heating, laundries, electroplating and more.

Investments in effective heat recovery systems significantly increase the efficiency of compressed air systems and quickly pay for themselves through energy cost savings. KAESER Kompressoren SE offers complete systems, including screw compressors, booster compressors and fans that are ideal for heat recovery. The direct use of waste heat via exhaust air ducts enables 96% of the energy used to be recycled.

The waste heat can also be used for warm air heating by having exhaust ducts direct the heated cooling air specifically to the places that need to be heated. In addition, heat exchanger systems can convert the compressor waste heat into warm heating and service water up to +70°C, and if necessary even up to +90°C. KAESER screw compressors can be equipped with plate heat exchanger systems that can be installed internally or externally depending on the size of the system.
