In machining and forming processes, such as the manufacture of injection pumps, cooling lubricants are used from which oil mist is formed under high pressure and heat development.
Filtration Group Industrial’s customer is a well-known manufacturer of diesel systems in Homburg/Saar, Germany, which produces components on various machining centers (BAZ). In order to comply with legally stipulated maximum workplace concentration (MAK) and workplace limit values (AGW), to protect the expensive equipment and also to still maintain the performance level of the machines in the long term, the cooling lubricant mist must be extracted and cleaned directly from the working area of the machines.
At the machine centers of the manufacturer there are generally electrostatic-separation systems installed. The air together with the oil mist is evacuated from the machine working room, but the separation result was not satisfactorily.
Issue
Oil drops deposit in the factory hall and on the machines
Very short maintenance intervals for the electrostatic separation system (4x per year)
Target
Increased separation rate and significantly reduced remaining oil content in the air
Compliance with the prescribed values of the ‘TA-Luft’
Reliable complete solution with low maintenance requirements
Assured protection of employees and equipment
Filtration Group Industrial LGA aerosol separators were installed, piped, control integrated and commissioned on several BAZs by Filtration Group service engineers.
Results
Secured separation and recovery even of finest oil droplets by the nearly maintenance free coalescer principle
Protection of employees and equipment thanks to the compliance to prescribed TA-Luft values
