To ensure optimal performance of machines with hydraulic and lubrication circuits, reliable operation is essential – even under the most challenging conditions such as extreme heat or cold, intense dust and dirt, high pressure and adverse weather conditions.
THE RIGHT FILTER FOR EVERY APPLICATION
Therefore, the appropriate filter concept and the selection and correct dimensioning of the filtration components are crucial when planning a hydraulic drive, as they have a direct influence on the subsequent performance and reliability of the machine. The components integrated into the hydraulic circuit define the required oil purity of the system.
Consequently, the ISO 4406 oil cleanliness class for the entire system is determined by the system component that has the highest fluid cleanliness requirements.
The reliable functioning of the hydraulic system depends on the correct filter selection. User-friendly filters significantly simplify commissioning and maintenance. The 250LEN series also offers the option of side mounting and optionally available measuring connections. The PurePower filter elements are recommended for the highest filtration performance.
Filters that are mounted in an easily accessible manner and enable the filter element to be changed easily not only support the commissioning but also the subsequent maintenance of the system. This also includes the provision of a sufficient number of measuring connections in the system, as specified in chapter “5.4.7.5.2 Measuring points” in accordance with the recommendations of DIN EN ISO 4413.
These recommendations can be implemented effortlessly and cost-effectively in a large number of filter series from Hengst Filtration using the optional 1/4″ inch measuring connections, which are attached directly to the filter housing with installed measuring couplings. This means that the specifications of DIN EN ISO 4413 can be easily met implement.
This leads to significant cost savings by avoiding complex pipe laying and assembly work, especially when designing hydraulic and lubricating oil units. At the same time, potential sources of leakage are avoided, which could arise, for example, from the use of additional screw connections. By avoiding these additional costs for the subsequent installation of measuring points in the pipe system, for example for pressure measurement, significant service costs are avoided.
It is also important to note that directly available measuring points support quick troubleshooting when necessary and enable monitoring of the system for important performance data.
Hengst recently expanded its line filter series to include the 250LEN series. This is characterized by improved separation performance thanks to the patented cyclone effect. With the cyclone effect, the medium no longer flows directly onto the filter element, but tangentially and spirally downwards. This results in a more even flow around the filter element, which increases its filtration efficiency and extends the element’s service life. In addition, the new series has a delta P value reduced by up to 15 percent thanks to optimized flow properties.
ADDITIONAL MOUNTING OPTION
From nominal size 160 in accordance with DIN 24550, the filter can be attached to the side. This significantly expands the installation options, especially in aggregates, for example on a console. Of course, this also makes it easier to use the filter in mobile applications and offers more flexibility when attaching the filter to the machine.
MEASUREMENT CONNECTIONS
Optionally, 1/4-inch measuring connections with installed measuring couplings are available for the versions with hydraulic connections with SAE flanges.
HIGH STABILITY
The special design using the innovative Non-Circular Design (NCD) concept enables a compact and robust design of the 250LEN series and gives it high stability at a pressure of 250 bar. These advantages apply to both stationary and mobile applications.
