Automatic filters from Filtration Group Industrial ensure that foodstuffs are free of foreign particles. They also keep storage tanks and machine components clean. In the filtration of edible oil, FG filter systems achieve excellent separation rates even at low temperatures. Filtration Group Industrial’s customer is a large bakery, one of the largest and most modern bakery production facilities. Donuts are produced on two large production lines and deep-fried in cooking oil during the manufacturing process. Residues of sugar and dough remain in the oil. Since the oil is reused in a circuit and heated by a heat exchanger, there is a risk that too large particles in the residues will block the heat exchangers. The service life and quality of the oil is considerably reduced if the particles are not filtered out of the oil.
The oil to be filtered flows through the filter element from the inside to the outside. This causes problems with pariticle removal, so that the filter often had to be opened and cleaned manually. During filtration, the oil has a temperature of approx. 170 °C, posing risks and hazards for employees and the environment. If the filter were opened, the oil would spread. Filtration Group Industrial created a duct connection for this application with two valves and a pipe in between. When the differential pressure is reached, the filter is cleaned and the upper valve opens. Subsequently, the lower valve opens and the oil can flow out without great pressure.
