Compressed air supply for dental technology

In a dental laboratory, nothing runs without compressed air. From the simple air hand nozzle to modern CAD/CAM sytems – a stable and safe compressed air supply is an indispensable component of success. Innovateeth manufactory – a name that is a neologism of “innovative”, “teeth” (eng. teeth) and manufactory. Since 2020, Patrick Haas and Innovateeth Manufaktur have been focusing on two areas: On the one hand, state-of-the-art dental technology, relying on the latest materials, manufacturing techniques and machines. On the other hand, on a manufactory, where highly specialized products are handmade.

With the founding of the comany in 2020, Patric Haas decided to move further in the direction of the digital future and thus simplify the classic workflow from the 1970s and make it more effective. To keep up with the development towards digitalization, the dental laboratory is equipped with the latest dental technology machines. With modern CAD/CAM milling and grinding machines, Patrick Haas and his team ensure reproducibility, accuracy as well as efficiency.

Challenge

RELIABLE COMPRESSED AIR – AN IMPORTANT PREREQUISITE

When an innovative and modern company looks at the energy efficiency and stustainability of its process and plants, it inevitably has to think about compressed air generation. An initial inventory showed that there was enormous potential for savings here. The piston compressors that had been in use since then no longer met the requirements of a dental technology company. While the blowing air and the grinders used where the main consumers of compressed air, today it is the 3D printers and CAD/CAM milling machines.

With the aim of optimizing this situation with the use of a new compressed air station, Mr. Haas was consulted in advance about the points and specifications that needed to be implemented. The cornerstones of the objective were, of course, a clean and reliable compressed air supply wiht a small footprint. A system that is absolutely up to the requirements and offers space for expansion.

The company works intensively with compressed air to produce a wide range of dental products such as:

  • Bite splints
  • Snoring splints
  • individual splints for optimal protection of the jaw for sports activities
  • All-ceramic products
  • 3D printing molds
  • model casting prostheses
  • telescopic prostheses made of zirconium and many more

to manufacture.

Solution statement

  • Even though the first step was not yet fail-safe, Patrick Haas has a complete compressed air station from KAESER that ensures that a wide range of applications can be used reliably and permanently
  • Based on a measurement and the machine manufacturer’s specifications for the new 3D printers, FILCOM GmbH was able to offer a suitable complete solution in premium quality.
  • A compact compressed air system of the KAESER “AIRCENTER” type from KAESER, which operates reliably and efficiently, even in continuous operation, and takes up little space.
  • The heart of the system is an energy-saving KAESER SM 6-8 screw compressor.
  • Another important efficiency component is that the system is equipped with the communication-capable KAESER Sigma Control 2 as standard.
  • A KAESER refrigeration dryer thermally shielded from the KAESER compressor ensures reliably dry compressed air.

Customer value

  • Thanks to the energy efficiency of the KAESER system, the purchase and installation is even rewarded by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) with a maximum of 40 % funding. Innovateeth was thus able to stay within its tight budget and even undercut it.
  • For FILCOM GmbH, support in this application process is a service that saves time and is very popular with customers.
  • The left housing cover can be removed in a few simple steps to reveal the clearly arranged components. All maintenance points are thus easily accessible.
  • When closed, the housing with its sound-insulating lining ensures a pleasant, extremely quiet operating noise.
  • In accordance with the “plug & work” principle, the KAESER AIRCENTER is immediately ready for use after connection to the power and compressed air supply.
