Innovative and invisible from the outside

Innovative drive combined with pure efficiency. This is what the new variable speed screw compressors from KAESER stand for. Through a close partnership with Siemens, a brand new synchronous reluctance motor has been developed and implemented, which enables significant efficiency increases, especially in the partial load range.

The reluctance motor and frequency converter form the heart of the effective drive system of the new CSD/CSDX series. Only the best of synchronous and asychronous motors is used here: precise controllability combined with robustness and user-friendly maintenance.

Design features

OUTSIDE

  • Predecessor systems can be easily replaced by largely identical external dimensions
  • The plants are easily accessible due to split control cabinet doors
  • Built-on dryers are available with front and rear doors

  • Revised compressor blocks
  • Power transmission by means of gear pair
  • Highest possible efficiency class of drive motors and drive systems (IE4, IE5, IES2)
  • Speed-controlled EC fan motors
  • WRG option with secondary Electronic Thermal Management (ETM)
  • Maintenance-free stainless steel piping in the plants
  • Optimized valves: inlet valve, minimum pressure check valve (MDRV) with pressure indicator/fuse protection
  • Reduced coolant charge in systems with add-on refrigeration dryer

MORE PRESSURE VARIANTS WITH INCREASED VOLUME FLOWS

  • Up to 3 additional pressure stages per system type (6 in total)
  • Volume flow gains between 5 % and 20 % (especially pronounced in the range of the new pressure stages – intermediate pressures)

OUTSTANDING LOW SPECIFIC POWER

Background:

  • Adapted SIGMA profile for higher efficiency
  • “Flat” block curve enables multiple efficient operating point
  • Always the highest efficiency class in the drive
  • Speed-controlled fan regulates final compression temperature (VET) at low temperatures via SIGMA CONTROL 2

SERVICE-FRIENDLY

  • Robust, reliable and virtually maintenance-free drive train
  • “Victaulic” sealing at the compressed air outlet (easy handling)
  • Oil drain valves on both sides of the compressor
  • No maintenance intervals for the gears (easy disassembly in case of repair)
  • Motor bearing on drive side not required as maintenance part
  • No service necessary on the fan unit
  • Accessibility to oil filler neck, oil level indicator and pressure gauge from the rear side

Heat recovery

up to 96 % recoverable as warm air e.g. heating of rooms / halls, drying processes, door air curtains
