Deeply relaxed – sheet metal for industry
A customer of KAESER Kompressoren SE specialising in the manufacture of wear-resistant tools uses a large amount of compressed air in its extruder technology. Thanks to the contracting agreement with KAESER, the purchase is a cost-effective affair.
The company manufactures wear-restistant tool components for the sand-lime brick industry and for foundries, punching tools as well as pressing tools for the electrical industry.
When stress relieveing, delivered sheets must first be freed from the stresses induced during the rolling process. This is where compressed air comes into play. It is omnipresent in the company. Without compressed air, nothing works here – because air is used everywhere for hardening, grinding, milling or finishing. The biggest customers are the grinding centres because they have their own pressure vessels. In order achieve maximum evenness, the workpiece to be sanded moves under the compressed air-controlled sanding unit.
Since the capacities are fully exhausted and some of the older compressors no longer meet the current requirements, new equipment was to be used. The employees in the company were rather sceptical about the new machines, because more powerful machines are always associated with more noise.
