Clean water: a requirement that had to be met with machine technology that was at the same time easier to handle, reliable and future-proof. Top priority: low costs. A modern station with KAESER screw blowers make it possible.

Challenge

The customer of KAESER Kompressoren SE is a dairy cooperative with a long tradition and international experience. In addition to standard products such as skimmed milk and sweet whey powder, special products are also produced. State-of-the-art ultrafiltration processes are used to produce high-quality protein concentrates, which are becoming increasingly important in the nutrition industry, dietetics, children’s nutrition and health food.

Higher energy efficiency thanks to KAESER screw blower

Due to the increasing demand and thus production, planning began for a new, larger purification plant for the water produced in the manufacture of dairy products. In the future, the nutrient load of different amount of water produced would be biologically degraded in batches in four sequential batches reactors. Four fans would ensure the air supply for the microorganisms involved in this process.

Solution statement

  • Replacement of the commonly used rotary piston blowers with new KAESER screw blowers in order to keep the operating costs of the water treatment plant as low as possible
  • For this application, KAESER used an KAESER FBS-M-SFC screw blower with integrated frequency converter, which also includes a smart KAESER SIGMA Control 2 machine controller.
  • Thanks to the control system and the complete design, these machines can also be used for applications that are concealed behind the term Industry 4.0 or Water 4.0
  • Complete package ensures safety during operation.
