Compressed air for jet mills

If you use jet mills for the production of ultra-fine powders, you can save energy costs by cleverly utilising heat from the compressed air. KAESER has expanded the range of options for its oil-free screw compressors in the CSG, DSG and FSG series for this purpose.


Besides stream, jet mills are mostly operated with compressed air or with nitrogen in the circuit. When converting the energy in the grinding nozzles, not only the pressure but also to a rlage extent the heat stored in the compressed air can be used for the grinding process. This waste heat is generated during the production of compressed air and is accordingly available free of charge.


  • Compressors with the compressed air outlet temperature control option are available for the KAESER CSG, DSG and FSG models
  • Power range from 37 to 355 kW
  • Compressor range can be provided for these models in the range from 4 to 11 bar overpressure
  • Depending on the user’s requirements, air-cooled or water-cooled units are available for selection

  • KAESER has further developed its modular options for two-stage oil-free screw compressors so that the special needs of jet mills can be taken into account
  • Flexible and controlled adjustment of the intercooling enables regulation of the compressed air discharge temperature.
  • Depending on the material to be ground, this can lead to a significant reduction in the specific energy requirement per tonne of finished product
